I do believe "Chubby" no longer owns the lifter SOA G60 you see in the pictures on this site. I think he sold it more than 2 years ago, it was listed on here for sale and I have spoke to a few guys who say he doesn't own it anymore. The Patrol is highly modified. A Toyota front axle, spring over axle, Marks 4wd 5spd and lot's more. A Detroit locker will only fit in the H260 rear diff on a G60 Patrol. The H260 is not a common rear diff and was only fitted to heavy duty models such as the G60H and all the pick-up cab "Ute" Patrols. To identify a H260 from a C216 rear diff the first thing is the H260 is massive. Much larger than a C216 which is the same size front & rear in a Patrol. Next the H260 has a removeable 3rd member and the C216 does not, the C216 only has a cover plate. The H260 is a 1 ton diff while the C216 is a 1/4-1/2 ton diff. You will know a H260 when you see it as it will be much larger than the front diff. You can probily find one in a junk yard in Aus and it will bolt in your G60. As far as the locker goes...we still don't know what Detroit locker will fit it so you would have to just find out on your own. That means maybe removing the 3rd member from the H260 and taking it to a Detroit locker place until they find the right locker to fit in it. Doing this to your truck though will make it much better off-road. Check your vin plate, it will say G60H if it is a heavy duty outfitted Patrol. Also check your rear diff to see if it is much larger than your front, this will tell you if somebody put the H260 in the rear at some point. If not you can still get one in a J/Y...just start calling them up and telling them you need a rear diff from a 1960's-1970's G60 Ute Patrol.

Unfortuneately I have not found what Detroit locker will work in the H260, even after speaking with guys who know about the Detroit in a H260. You are lucky to have a H260 though and I think the best thing to do would be to pull the 3rd member. Find the most experience place near you who deal with Detroit lockers. take them the 3rd member and I am sure you can solve this. The Detroit is not a direct aplication it is just what fits from another aplication so trial and error will get you what you want. If you find out the model of Detroit that fits please post the info.
