Original spring height

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

Original spring height

Post by zed »

Does anyone have the measurement for the distance between ground and fender lip (both front and rear) of the L60/G60 Patrol?
(Presume the vehicle is unladen with passengers or cargo and all fluids are at full capacity Additionally, presume the wheel and tires are the original 7.50x15 or 7.50x16 specification.)
Thanks,
Keith

Keith, in the Service_Manual_Nissan_Patrol_Model_60_Series.pdf, on page 23 of the scan, or 20 printed in the manual, you have some dimensions that will help. However this are for the older models, but will be a good reference.

http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1670

No measurements to the fender lip. But there are measurements to the center line of the lights, as follow:

To center line of front turn lights: 915mm (36")

To center line of headlams: 935mm (36-13/16")

To center line of rear lights: 765mm (30-1/8")

To bottom of licence plate light: 1045mm (41-1/8")

Note: the measurements are for the 60 model. Canvas top. I know that in your case, specially with the rear lights, there might be a problem.

If you need this page at a bigger scale, let me know.

You don't miss a chance to rub it in... ;)

It is on page 25. Since the numbers are somehow difficult to read, here they are:

Measurements for the G60H

To center line of front turn lights: 935mm (36-13/16")

To center line of headlams: 955mm (37-9/16")

To center line of rear lights: 800mm (31-1/2")

To bottom of licence plate light: 1080mm (42-1/2")

Please note that this manual probably was published 1962 or 1963. They don't have measurements for the hard top models. So this numbers should serve as a reference only.

Looking for something else, I found that this Service Bulletin has all the information regarding heights. It will be more exact ones for Zed's.

Service_Bulletin_Apr_1968.pdf
http://www.60patrol.com/forum/download/file.php?id=21

It's located at the Patrolabiblia, Service bulletins for the L60 Patrol:

There's additional information there that's good reading. :ugeek: :ugeek: :D

Esteban,
Thank you. (If only the IRS could provide this level of service, then my job would be so much less stressful!)
