Bummer... wrong part

Post by moore_rb »

Yesterday I opened all my new brake wheel cylinders from Australia.

When I opened the box for one of the rear cylinders, however, this is what came out:

The box had the right part number on the outside, but the wrong brake cylinder on the inside. :|

and I'm prettty sure the process to return parts to Oz is going to be a challenge.

ouch that sucks, is there a Protex phone number on the box ? I reckon since you ordered the correct part and they didn't make sure there sending there correct part, they should pay the freight to return the wrong part, and ship yours free of charge.

I think that might be a rear cylinder for a later model Patrol, maybe an MQ? Sucks, huh. :|

Well, 4WDProducts (and Protex) in Australia came through with some CHAMPION customer service on this one-

It took several weeks, and some back and forth emails with them and their part supplier, but they shipped me a correct (and free) wheel cylinder to replace the incorrect one.

The replacement arrived yesterday, so I can get back to work on brake restoration here real soon.

Yayyy! I love happy endings. :D thanks for letting us know that they took good care of you, many of us rely on them for these cylinders.
