1964 G60

Post by ozpatrol »

G'day to all. I have 2 G60 1st is a ute 1964 MWB? We pulled it out of a paddock. I was told that it had not been started in 10 years. Towed it home 2 farms away. Use my battery out of my hilux. I hooked up my 20 liter boat fuel tank and primed the line. Gave her a quick turn and every thing seem good. We hit the starter again and away she went purring like a kitten. We stood looking at each other and cheered you "bloody beauty" Changed tires and went for spin  No Brakes little bit in pedal used low gears and loud knock in from axle. 2nd is a 1974 SWB hard top got it going but only running on 2/3 pots told it had been run dry and baked the donk by some idiot pig shooter. This is my spare parts wagon '74 cost a cartoon of beer say no more.
My ? is can the front axles be swapped over. If so are there any issues about it.

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: Thanks for stooping by. You've come to the right place to find answers to all of your G60 questions. :D

You shouldn't have any issues swapping the front over, other than freeing up rusted bits.

Post up some pictures, we'd love to see them! :D

Sweet to here about the 64 G60 mate, Early diffs to mid 67 from memory never ran CV Joint, in fact they had a Tracta Joint. Apart from that the diffs are interchangeable. If you need any parts feel free to send me a PM, be sure to post some photos :)

PS- I got a whole diff avail if your one is no good

A feral pig shooter took the swb '74 into the hills with out checking water and oil. With no water they drove it until it got hot and waited for it to cool and kept going until he got back to camp. This wrecked a few cylinders/ pots. The donk is an engine.
