Has anyone found a replacement for the oil bath air cleaner element?

Do you mean changing it completely or altering the guts?

There are options for replacing the oil bath breather element with two regular filters. A friend told me that he did what's described next. I never tried myself, since in the middle of all the process, I changed the carburetor altogether with its own air filter housing.

You can put 2 Kohler filters one on top of the other. These filters are with the following measures:
ID: 5 1/2"
OD: 7"
Height: 3"

I have included a diagram with measurements of the oil bath filter, as well as how the Kohler filters will fit. This might help with a decision. These filters are really cheap, and available at any hardware store for about $4 ea. Edit: It's possible that the filters will need a little convincing to get in.
