7.50x15 tires for mounting on 15" split ring (rim) wheels

Does anyone have a photo of any original style tread pattern used on the Patrol?

I have located several styles of tread and want to know which is closer:

All the 60's manuals I have show a bar tread tyre similar to the Coker.

They are Japanese illustrations/photos so not sure what you guys actually got from the dealer.

Hi Keith,

If I was doing a limited driving, show car/collectible style resto on a 60 I would definitely use a set of those ultra-cool looking military style 7.5x15 Coker tires

My other 2 cents are that neither of the Mickey Thompson options would look right on a Patrol- those are both skinny front tires for drag racing cars... they will have a very rounded shoulder and will not look like an old bias ply tire when mounted on a stock patrol split rim

This tire H78-15 is basically the same size as a 7.50-15.
Section width 8.5 vs 8.4
OD 30.4" on both
Rim size 15" for both.
And I like this tread for the Patrol

I like both corkers. The prices seem fair too, not like some people and manufacturers who think they rule the world!

I was looking at my spare tire and thought that maybe it is original. Does anyone know? It's a Sumitomo tire and is made in Japan. The tread looks similar to the non military style tire from the manual. The tire is on a 1969 15" split rim. Take a look at the pics.

I am with you the Cokers rock! I like the military style, I wish I had more shopping time before I got the set I have. I would like a set of these.

It is probably a vintage tire, but not likely an original. The originals were typically Toyo or Bridgestone.
