Hi all, name's Steve and it's good to find a forum dedicated to the full metal jacket G60. I had a 1971 wagon about 15 years ago before I went down the leaky and expensive Landrover path with a Disco but I've finally come back to reality and picked up a 76 MWB open top with an Aussie made 253 V8 burbling under the bonnet. Anyway I'm off to explore the site. Cheers

Thanks River Patrol, still got the Disco but I'm scavenging it for parts for the Nissan. Seats, oil cooler, thermo fans, airbox & hoses for when I make a snorkel, stereo, make an air compressor out of the air conditioner and whatever else I can modify to fit on the cheap so it'll be part Nissan, part GM Holden and part Landrover (apologies to the purists). I'll leave the oil leaks in the Landy though, don't want them

Hi Ron, I did some pics for you. Tell me if you need more detail of specific areas. The motor is a 4.2L and looks as it's fit in with the only mod to the firewall being banging the lip (you'll see the pic) that extends out from the firewall to fit the dizzy in. Overall it's a tight squeeze (3/4" between exhaust manifold and side engine bay) but the only other mods I can see is making a removalable panel in the footwells so you can change the sparkplugs (that'll be fun). It's running the stock exhaust manifolds so I'd say you'd need some good bending skills and some patience to fit extractors but I dare say it's been done before.

If you need anything specific in the way of pics let me know hey, not a problem. Forgot to say I think the bellhousing is a Dellows (pretty sure that's the only mob that did them in Oz and they'll fit a Chev or Holden V8 ( Holden's our GM). Personally I think I'll stick with the little 253 (close to the Chev 283 over there I suppose) as I can only see fuel prices going up and for me it's only about the V8 rumble (and the posing value that comes with it of course )
