New member...with 67 Patrol soft-top
Purchased my patrol last spring....now my favorite ride. Murfreesboro TN's first. I work at Nissan HQ in Franklin and there is only one additional employee that owns one of these rare machines. As one other post has mentioned; Nissan headquarters has a blue hard-top within the legacy collection.
I will snap some pics for the site when I see it again. Nissan held a Z car show three years back which is where I saw the ventage-original patrol that was brought to the show by my co-worker. Out of all the cars in perfect condition and some worth in excess of six figures; the old rugged and super rare Patrol 60 was voted show favorite. I started my serch after the show and located my prize in New Mexico. My 67 model has traveled the world with its former owner the was a US government employee for thirty years with rare take your ride with you privlages. Puru, South Africa, Italy & Australia are the locations I'm aware of. Prior to coming to TN from NM my Patrol spent eight yesrs in Elkhart IN where someone dropped some investment coin. New drivetrain, heavy duty powrr steering, oversized mudders and rugged steel rims. I replaced the trans with a C4 built for a camero drag car:) Body is lifted and completly painted with rhino shield flat paint.
I will post pics from my files later....
I run without doors and no seat belts for now but its just a matter of time before I capture a nasty ticket.
I need door mounts/hinge assembies...any ideas as I have serched the net a lot? I may have to make them from scratch...

Welcome to 60Patrol!
Another Patrol from TN! They're adding up over there.
What an awesome story of the history of your Patrol. If it's the one from Elkhart, did you get it from Keith? We definitely need pictures and some more detail about the drivetrain mods.
That's cool that you've seen the Patrol in the Nissan collection. It doesn't come out very often, but it is a very sweet looking Patrol. I now the Z convention that was held there, I was asked to display my red Patrol at that Z convention when it was in Gardena a few years ago. We definitely need any pictures that you have of that one, too. That's awesome that that one inspired you to search until you found one for yourself.

Welcome!
We definitely need pictures of yours. Very interesting history behind.
I was wondering about Peru as one of the places. Hope it was the neighboring country, Ecuador, since, to the best of my knowledge, Peru never got the 60 Series Patrol over there.

Welcome to 60Patrol. I was curious about there being a Patrol at HQ. I work for Nissan Canton and have 2, neither of which are running at the moment. Can't wait to see pics of yours and the one at HQ if you can get them.
I saw a soft top blue one in Japan in a collection at the Zama plant. I took as many pics of it as I could, then, after looking at them later, wished I had got more.
I need to come up with an excuse to visit HQ!

Also, we need some info about the roof rack. Did you add it or it came from the previous owner? It could be an original roof rack, that was fitted as an option. I remembered that it was supposed to handle filming equipment and crew!! I'm not making this up. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any reference in the catalogs of brochures. Maybe RiverPatrol can have something.sleepyzzz wrote:I just now noticed the snorkel in your picture. Please post some shots of the engine bay and how the snorkel plumbing please.
What I do recall, and this was back in my home country Ecuador, in the 70s, is that the Embassy of Japan had a hardtop MWB Patrol with this option. Very, very rare, and was probably a dedicated import as you can see. I tried for some years to see if there was a chance of buying that Patrol, but it was impossible to reach anybody with decision making.
By the way, good looking Patrol. More pictures please!
