Gary, the Patrol looks in very good shape.

Don't forget to contact Pancho, with the info I sent you. He might help you figuring if the price is right, and also taking a closer look.

I have sent a mail to Pancho, now just waiting on a response :-) I think we're one step closer in our decision to purchase as my wife and I have agreed a second vehicle is a must, even to use as an around town car should the Patrol be down for any length of time waiting on parts. They're out there....just need to sniff them out :-)

Gary, i checked the taxes status of that Patrol in the photo you post. As in other countries, car owners have to pay taxes every year. The last payed year was 2007 and for now the total amount the new owner has to pay only for taxes is almost 800 usd. Also note that its original shape is "soft top" i mean the roof and the windows in the rear part are aftermarket which in fact is not bad, just not original. Hope you will find one soon.
Cheers,

Pancho. Thanks for the tax info on the G60 I'd posted. That one either has been sold or taken off the market as the add now reads "vendido", sold. If you hear of any available please let me know either here or e-mail.

We've contacted a group in Cuenca that sources cars for what I consider a reasonable fee. Part of the process is verifying documents as well as mechanical and physical condition. They're waiting on our word to start the process of sniffing out a good one. At this point we feel confidant we can get the majority of necessary spare parts to make this work for us. We're here on a fixed income and are not "wealthy gringos" so this two vehicle purchase has to be at most a wash ($$$) with the sale of our current vehicle. Even better would be netting a few $$$ for our pocket in the process.

Thanks for the Argentinean lead Sleepy, but we need one that is pretty much get in and drive condition.
