1969 Patrol and rest of car collection

Post by cele3 »

I've been collecting cars, Saleens and other Mustangs in particular, for the past 15 or so years. I store them in a climate controlled warehouse in sealed Air Chambers. The owner of the building (my former business partner) has sold the building and I will be needing to vacate in less than a month. Out of the twenty or so cars I have, I may be able to keep half of them at most.

Of particular interest to this Forum would be the 1969 Nissan Patrol that I have for sale that is listed at #19. I am a former Nissan dealer and I purchased Dotson Datsun (great name, huh!) in Midland, TX, in about 2003. When I bought the dealership, there were three classic Datsun/Nissans on the showroom floor. This Patrol was one of them. It was originally restored by the guy I bought the dealership from and he did a very good job. The truck is rust-free.

I have used the Patrol sparingly. Most notably, I drive it from Lewisville, TX, to Terlingua, TX, annually for the Terlingua Chili Championship. It's approximately 600 miles one way! The Patrol has always performed perfectly.

To my knowledge, all body panels are original and the truck has never been in a collision. It has been repainted to its current white. I believe the original color is a sea foam greenish color. The seats have been recovered and are in excellent condition. The engine is original and has 85K original miles. I am not sure if it has been rebuilt. It runs very well. The transmission shifts as it should and the four-wheel drive works.

I will be taking and posting additional photos in the next couple days and placing them in my photobucket account.

The Patrol and all of the other cars are located in Lewisville, TX.

Here's the list of all cars for sale:

1. 1969 Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet. $72,500.

2. 1970 Cougar Eliminator 428 Super Cobra Jet. $63,500.

I apologize for not yet having drafted appropriate descriptions for all the vehicles. I am in the process of doing it, but wanted to get the selling process initiated right away. All of my low mileage cars are in showroom condition. All stored in a climate controlled facility inside sealed Air Chambers. All have supporting documentation.

Please go to my photobucket account page for photos of my cars. At the moment, some are more thoroughly photographed than others. I will be happy to provide any information requested by serious buyers. The photobucket link is: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cele3/l ... t=6&page=0

Please contact me directly via email at cele3@aol.com if you have serious interest.

Thanks,

Rob.

Thanks for thinking of us, Rob. What an awesome collection. I know of this Patrol, although I have never seen it. I know that one of the other cars on the showroom floor with the Patrol was a Fairlady Roadster. I got the story a few years back when I bought all of the NOS parts from the parts department - the dealership was going to be relocating and didn't want to have to move the old stock so they were happy to get rid of it.

The Photobucket links aren't working, looks like they got truncated. I'd love to see some of these vehicles, especially the Patrol.

I've edited the photobucket link so that it is now working.

You've got it right. I bought the Fairlady and the 240Z (shown in the photobucket account also) at the same time as the Patrol. All came with the dealership.

That is a very nice looking Patrol. Very clean, and a little bit of added Nismo.

Somebody on here please buy this Patrol so we can keep up with it through the forum. If I had the extra cash available, I would be on my way to TX right now!

I've added a ton of new photos. Here's the link directly to the Patrol: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cele3/l ... t=3&page=1

The spots of rust are only superficial and many are merely bubbles under the paint from improper paint preparation. The truck is super dry.

I've done my best to show any and all "warts" that I know about.

Kick my shoes off, recline the chair - I've got a few pages of Patrol porn to drool over. 8-)

That is one very, very nice Patrol. If it runs and stops half as good as it looks you've underpriced it by a few thousand. I know of a Patrol that sold for that price that although it looked nice it couldn't even be driven until significant work was put into it.

This Patrol has a lot of it's original equipment. The side steps are gone but that was kind of typical for the '68 - '69s. It even has the original tail lights and the reverse light. I like the addition of the under hood light using the same style as what is/used to be in the glove box on the '69s. Original style upholstery, nice. NIce. NIce. Nice. Whoever gets ends up with this Patrol will have an awesome vehicle.
