My Ultimate G60

Post by Akio_33 »

Hi all, new to the forum!

I now own a 1972 MWB G60 softop that i am putting back together. I am the 3rd owner of this beast and plan to keep it in my family for years to come.

It will be my daily drive as well which i am currently in the process of putting it back together, still need to get the engine running, a bonnet and the seats...

I'm Brisbane based incase anybody else is also.

Cheers!

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: :text-welcomewave: Thanks for stopping by and especially thanks for the picture! :D

That is a nice looking G60, it certainly has potential. I like the fender flares, I wonder where they're from? They seem to fit perfectly, as if they were made for the Patrol. It looks like the rear fenders are possibly uncut, and the flare fit right over it. I like the bull bar, it looks just like the one on my ute.

Keep us posted on your progress, and don't be afraid to ask any questions. :D

I think there are a few members your way. They'll probably chime in soon.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear about the plans for your Patrol.

By looking at it, it seems to be a later model, like a 78. The double lamps on each fender, the bonnet with the recess in the middle, and the 3 wipers. You'll have to go back and give more money to the bloke that sold you.

Previous owner mentioned it was a 72' model, the front guards are fibreglass units so im unsure if they're replicas of the original guards.

I bought this g60 for $250, it's had the engine and gearbox rebuilt, i need a few bits and pieces to get it going again but im excited! Image

Yeah it does, i'm not sure if it is original but it works very well. There was a softop for it which i still have but is worn out, i kept it to use as a template to get a new one custom made

Great picture Akio_33. More details are showing that it's a 78: the vinyl panels on the doors. Great score.

Ah well 78' it is then =)

So i ran into a little bit of trouble, i just noticed the compliance plate is missing... meaning may not be able to register it again???

I'm gonna have a talk to main roads and see what my options are, hopefully there's a way around it... fingers crossed.
