In-line clear fuel filter to supplement the OEM glass filter

I would like to add an in-line clear fuel filter to supplement the OEM glass filter bowl, I would like it to be clear (rather than opaque) plastic with straight inlet and outlet.
(I will be starting up the engine for the first time since cleaning the fuel tank and want to ensure that the glass filter bowl element and the supplemental fuel filter capture any impurities before the fuel enters the carburetor.)
Does anyone have a recommendation? Note: Since this filter will be on for a few months, aesthetics (ie. not looking tacky) are important.

Your '69 didn't use the glass bowl fuel filter, that was the first year for a plastic filter. I think schluderm on eBay sells them. They're more opaque than clear, but clear enough to see sediment.

The Parts Catalog 1971 USA_Part1.pdf, Page 44 (of 58) shows the glass “Fuel Strainer (up to Jan. ’69). Without knowing precisely the work the PO did, I will optimistically guess the glass strainer currently on my Patrol is original.

If your '69 has the rectangular front parking lights, a plastic filter was original equipment. What is the date of manufacture on the VIN plate on the left door 'B' post?

DOM - predictably, the Patrol is at the body shop, gathering dust...I gotta get thru a few more tax returns (April 15th) before I can get back to it.

The NAPA Gold 3011 seems to be the same as the WIX 33011

i am pretty sure i have one of those laying on my work bench in the garage. never have used it. there are glass filters on evil bay along with replacement cloth filters that go inside the glass bowl. type in Datsun roadster in the search on evil bay and scroll down to the second or third page. pretty pricey to me, but if you want one really bad it is nice. i have been told that Nissan still offers the cloth filters but never tried ordering those. you really should check with the parts counter before buying anything off evil bay. the other day i saw a Nissan cork gasket for the roadster oil pan offered for $22 plus shipping, and I had just got one from Nissan for 5 bucks.
