I cannot describe the relief I feel that it runs. Next step; shift into first gear and hope for the best.

Test that brake pedal first... :D

sleepyzzz,
I have no intention on selling the Patrol. I do have to admit, I have never rode in one, not seen one under its own power. So, I hope once I have it on the road I hope to enjoy it.

As an aside, I have had my Datsun 520 in my garage for about 1.5 years, just reassembling it. I call this phase of ownership therapy, most people would call it ridiculous.."just get the vehicle on the road".

I am not looking for a great driving experience from a 40+ year old vehicle. A modern vehicle will beat the old ones for comfort, reliability, and (most) performance. My projects are not to rebuild and flip (for either a profit, or more likely a loss!).

i am so glad to hear that. you are really into the restoration, and i bet you like it once you drive it. new springs and shocks make a world of difference.

I hope you're keeping good notes on what you used where. I know you have done a lot of digging to find weather strip, etc., I know I'm interested in seeing what worked. For instance, what weather strip did you used for the windows in the rear doors? How about the wing window?

These parts are one step lo closer to arriving at my doorstep; 16" one piece wheels and 1969 seats.
