Spare Wheel Bracket

Post by champiscool »

Hi all,

After a few years of weekend work I have just about finished my rig (pic below) but I am missing one of the brackets that lock the spare wheel carrier in place (circled in red). I had it when I striped the car down but can’t find it for the life of me now. Just wondering if someone might have a spare one lying around?

The 74 patrol after its fresh paint, rust cut out of it, PTO winch, new wheels and a million other things……

Very nice looking Patrol! I really like the light green color, it looks very appropriate. It would be nice to see more pictures. *hint, hint* :D

I'm sure someone can come up with that bracket. I've probably got one somewhere but no time to look for it right now.

I like the green too. It reminds me of the older Patrol air cleaner green. Sea Foam I think it was called. How did u come up with that color?

Hey mate, welcome to the forum, awesome old g60 you have there, love the color, from memory its a factory color called "Leaf" green ive seen a few g60's the same color.

Todays your lucky day, I do have a spare lock bracket !

Bad news is its red not green ;)

If you're interested in it let me know I won't charge you much, just a clean swap on that PTO winch ey ;)

Cheers mike

Hey Guys!

Thanks for all of the reply's!

Yeah the colour is the original that came on the Patrol. Someone had painted it in a cream on the exterior and half the interior but it was all cracked and in terrible condition so i took the opportunity to cut out the rust in the rear and the floors and take it back to is factory colour. The body work was the biggest killer but it was definitely worth it now that it is nice and straight! That is actually the only pic that i have at the moment but i will try and upload some more up.

Mike that would be unreal if i could get my hands on that bracket.......red is fine :) If you PM me the details I can transfer the funds across.

Off the top of my head these are some of things i have done (probably missed a few):-

New paint inside and out
New door cards
Headlights re-chromed
New bumper
PTO winch
Removing rust from floor and rear
New carb
New mirrors
Rebuilt fuel pump
Reinstatement of original seats
Front 'Nissan' badge
Rear 'Patrol' plate
Wheels
Rebuilt cylinder head
Relining park brake
