It was September 7th, 2013 that my friend and I did a crazy, 15 hour one day turnaround road trip to El Paso Texas and back to pick up the green monster, and we got home so late, that I left it on the trailer, planning to unload it the next morning, but when I woke up on September 8th, 2013, everything was flooded out and it was pouring rain:
Fast forward to this morning.... September 8th, 2014. Exactly one year to the day: Same circumstances- I got home late last night, and was too tired to unload, so I left everything parked on the side of the garage:
Same truck, same trailer, same rain pouring down, same 4 inches of standing water all over my property... Different Patrol.
Phoenix is dry as a bone 360 days out of the year, but the night of September7, and the morning of September8 seems to have been popular with the rain gods the past 2 years...
So, it appears that when the calendar says September 7th, I am supposed to hook up the trailer, jump in my truck, drive to another state, purchase a Patrol, and bring it back home.
Performing this ritual seems to appease the rain gods in some fashion, who then deluge Arizona with 6 inches of rain over the next 24 hours...
