SD33T and 4 speed into '77 G60
Hello everyone! So happy there is a forum dedicated to the trusty old girls!
I am a newcomer to your shores but have been a proud G60 owner for about 10 yrs. I'm on my second project and have just landed an SD33T (12v) and box (sadly, only a 4..) that I want to drop into my 77 MWB and drive across the Nullabor to Perth!! Can anyone please tell me what is involved? Another forum said the P40 and SD33 have the same mounts but that was referring to MQ's...? Any relevant and reliable info would be greatly appreciated. Cheershttp://www.60patrol.com/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=19#

Welcome to 60Patrol!
That's a pretty ambitious goal ahead of you, sounds exciting.
The P40 and the SD33 do have the same mounts. That's how they were able to use either engine in the MQs. The engine used in the G60s is a P engine, which is very close to the P40 but not identical. The engine mount points are different among other things. I would imagine that the configuration you want to do shouldn't be too difficult beyond relocating the mounts. I've seen the same system in a G61, which has the same body.
Keep us posted on your project and the trip afterwards.

Welcome to 60Patrol. An SD33T install into one of my 60s would be my dream project. I just don't think I'm that adventurous! A Nissan Titan VK56 V8 swap would be my second dream swap.

Thanks for the info
It is a little ambitious, I'm sure, but the tax man was extra kind to me this year and in turn I have around $6000 I'm willing to spend to get her just right. Seats just re-covered, new paint job in next 2 months, leaf springs re packed and set, and removed one to soften the ride a little, and just sourced a 5 speed box.Things are moving forward! Hoping to get my hands on some mq discs for the front and would love a power steering install but we'll see about that later...for now, if anyone has some barry-do's or barry-dont's that only a G60 officianado would now I am all ears!
Will try to get some pics up asap
