What to do with this old Patrol tire...?

The things we do that keep us from being with our Patrol.

My wife started out with "just" 4 chicken two years ago, as well... now she takes 2 DOZEN eggs to work with her every morning for her co-workers. She gets every color egg imaginable - white, brown, pink, blue, and green.

Yeah well we only have hens so no new ones unless I go buy more, which I don't have any plans to till I get a new place where I can build a permanent coop for them. Currently I have them in a Chicken Tractor that I can roll around the yard because my POA wont allow me to build a permanent one! Also my wife will not let me harvest any of them for dinner so.......

yeah, our "colony" started out as just hens as well - and, like you, I was forbidden to consume any of them :( - I'm not allowed to eat the goats, either :crying-yellow:

but then, one batch of 4 "guaranteed pullets" ended up having one lone rooster in it, and she thought it would be be fun for the kids to hatch a batch of eggs... so she went ahead and kept him.

Well, the typical hatch ratio is 60-40 male to female, and the more roosters you have, the more aggressive the roosters get. So, all I have to do is sit back and wait until a rooster gets mean enough to go after my wife or one of the kids; and then they come and find me to tattle-tale on the offending bird and BAM! ... into the freezer he goes ...

The big gold rooster that is lower-left center in the pic above... yeah, he'll be next. He's getting mean, and I've already named him "chicken-tortilla soup"...
