My next project
Picked this up last week. 1946 Chevy 1.5 ton. Plan on a modern drivetrain swap with a Duramax and a pickup bed. Can't wait to get started.

Re: My next project
That will be a fun project. But finish the Patrol first.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: My next project
Yeah I think Im gonna leave the lift mech in it and have a pickup dump bed. I also want it to be 4x4. I'm looking around for a good 4500 Kodiak frame and drivetrain.mdawg4x4 wrote:I like the dump bed.

Love it !
Used to occasionally drive a flatbed version when I mechanicked for a ranch near Fresno/Madera. It seemed old even in 1976.

Re: My next project
Totally agree.... I would just cut the cab-protector off the bed to clean up the look, reverse the hinging on the dump gate so it works like a tailgate, and leave it - JMHOmdawg4x4 wrote:I like the dump bed.
Below the bed, on either side just in front of the rear tires, I'd hang a 90 gallon polished big rig fuel tank.
I'd put 5 coats of clear coat over that awesome patina, then I'd put a set of super-swampers on it.
In fact, Justin, you better just send that truck to me and let me do it...
