Baja Bugs
Hey all, earlier this year I swapped some G60 parts for a sand rail frame. I've never had anything to do with VW's and have recently started researching to see what path I'll take to build the rail. While pouring over forums I've reiginted a childhood love for baja bugs! I know a lot of you guys have had a swag of different vehicles in the past and was wondering if anyone has been into rails or buggies?

Re: Baja Bugs
Before Patrols, dune buggies were the only off road experience I had. I've had a couple of them, and I loved them. They are unique and fun in there own way. If it breaks down in the middle of the desert, you can literally repair it with bailing wire - been there, done that; and it was a rocker arm shaft that I repaired.
Now that I will be spending some time here at my place on the river, I had planned on giving some attention to my buggy. The engine is currently out because I needed to pull the trans axle for rebuild. I'd like to get it running again. It was a blast to take out and tear up the desert with.

All of the existing pics are pre-digital.
I'll take some new ones once I clean it up.

Re: Baja Bugs
I work at a VW shop. We don't do a ton of buggies or rails but we do get them in from time to time. The mechanicals are all pretty much the same as regular VWs though. If you need any help or information I can help out or at least point you in the right direction
