Re: 1969 patrol on ebay 02/23/2015
Looking at the pics again reminded me of something about this Patrol: it has one of the uber rare set of original hubcaps. They're mounted on non-stock wheels which is interesting. But as any Patrol fanatic knows, there are only about 4 known sets and a handful of single original hubcaps in existence.
Very nice.
Very nice.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Congrats on the purchase...! You're off to a great start with this truck, and FWIW, I think you got a great price as well.
Hope you will post more pics, and your driving impressions, when it gets delivered...

I am told the winch works. Not sure of the origin of this beast but definitely keep your digits away from that big ass gear! The current owner has had the truck for 20 years. He told me it's an all original Patrol which has not been driven more than 50 miles in the last three years due to health issues. He replaced the head gasket and exhaust manifold gaskets, All new brake cylinders and resurfaced brake shoes. Rebuilt water pump. Converted the truck to an electronic ignition as the truck used to eat points! It's never has seen Ethanol and he likes to run Racing Oil which is formulated by with higher levels of zinc, phosphorous, and sulfur to provide maximum anti-wear properties. - I have a video of a cold start and the truck sounds good! Will post a like to my Patrol page soon. Thank my story and I'm sticking to it!

Hey overton, you will now have to change all your links in your signature to Patrol stuff, to include a new website, twitter account, and facebook account.
Just saying, now that you are a PATROL convert!!

Re: 1969 patrol on ebay 02/23/2015
Good eye - I will correct that - the ebay Auction actually said it was a 4-speed but I knew that could not be right. Any advice on replacing the headliner would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
