Fitting 33" tyres

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

Same thing here Kev unless you find 2nd hand military stock which is just about as rare as new. Only one supplier in the US I know of that has the XZL in 7.50x16 and they are not cheap. XZL was standard on some Rovers. 8.25" is great, 9.00 is a touch big on a Patrol but will work in my opinion. Might scrub front leaves at full lock with stock wheels.

Cheers

Yep i reckon your correct. The 9.00R16 would almost certainly scrub on stock rims. If i found a set i would run them on hermit, or grip- neither of which are stock though. But they would also go on the -15 offset 16x7 rims i bought a while ago with the idea of tall and skinny.......

the indian company MRF tires do a 9.00R16 ex millitary bar tread type tire. Horrid mileage, eg less than 20,000km, but they are appaerntly nearly unstoppable in the thick stuff. They also have a rep for busting toyota drive lines

funny how the michelins are not really openly available :?:

cheers

edited to fix spelling errors. Big fingers on a modern touch screen ipad is bloody frustrating
