I need help from our Aussie friends

I purchased an Aus. 60 series manual recently. I noticed in the Aus. manual that the R.H. drive came with a Master vac. brake booster. It also says that a tandem master cylinder was used on all models. I wonder if the booster would fit L.H. models as well. Does any one know where to get either of these items? Also I'm looking for a replacement air filter. I want to keep my original oil bath breather but remove the oil and old element. I think I may have found one at http://motorcare.com.au/unifilter3h.htm but not sure. Thanks, Keith

Hey Keith, I am obviously not an Aussie but may be able to offer some advice.... I also have the 1977 manual, intially I thought it sucked compared to the older service manual but after spending time with this book I can say that it has a lot of info found nowhere else and good info too. I would bet that nearly all late 70's Patrol parts will adapt straight into your 69 Patrol. The only probs will be LHD vs RHD, ie front end parts and steering box. Tons and tons of parts for our Patrols are still available from Nissan, the problem is having the correct part number....the 1980 microfiche you have is what is needed to get your hands on these parts. The second large obsticle is having a dealer who knows how to order and handle these parts never sold on USA soil. Once these two things have been overcome then just about all parts can be bought from Nissan less the obvious ones out of production, ie engine block and so on.....Lastly, I have dealt with Richard at MotorCare directly numerous times and he is a great guy. I have bought from him rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes and other parts, he can locate many things like leaf springs, starters and on and on....they might be slightly diffrent than stock Nissan parts because what Richard sells is aftermarket but they will work fine. IMO Motorcare is the best Aussie place to buy 60 series parts from. Ian

Ian, I would love to get a copy of an owners mannual for my 69. I have never seen one so I don't know if it would be too much work for you to copy it. I really just need the information so even if you find a beat up manual that you have a dupe of I would still be very interested in it. Thanks, Jason

He plans to put it on CD and make that available just like the P engine manual is available. Not sure about the status of that though.
