Known G60 movements
Just reading the thread from Miller of Stallion going to Ferdy, got me thinking about car movements. What do I mean, distances we have shipped/ driven our beloved G60's
I'll start from what I know in Australia.

2012 – Moved to storage NSW South Coast, 200km
1973 Showcar
2007 - Driven from Melbourne to Sydney, 1000km
2008 – Storage NSW lower Nth Coast – 200km
2014 - shipped to Casino car transport , 800km
1977 Green Parts rig
2006 - Towed from Melbourne outskirts to Sydney, 900km (parted out RIP)
1977 Rocket
2008- Driven from Melbourne to Sydney, 1000km
2009 - Sold to buyer who towed it to Kempsey 600km
1978 Ute OJ
2008- Towed from Vic to Sydney - 600km
2013 - Half towed to Melbourne (with HP, but half scraped RIP)
1978 Ute HP
2008- Towed from Adelaide to Sydney 1400km
2011 – Simpson Desert 3000km

2010 – Towed from NSW Southern Highland to Sydney 200km (Parted RIP)
1977 Mr Bog from Gibbo
2011 – Towed from Windsor 70km (scrapped RIP)
So my record would be HP as between my collection and passing to Miller, now done 5400km
I'll start from what I know in Australia.

Re: Known G60 movements
im assuming your not including km's the g60's have actually been driven on road (if registered)??
if so then I collected hermit from north side Newcastle and drove her home to near cooma. from memory that was about 700km.
if your including on road travel with the g60's too??. then you can add the 24-25000 km I did in hermit in the following 12 months after I got her.
damn I hate seeing her sitting there unfixed. miss her like your favourite dog that's finally passed on.....
2 of the 60's I have here have done no more than 150km each to get here. 2 have come from Canberra or just north of. so other than hermit none have travelled more than 200km......

Re: Known G60 movements
My 65 Patrol stayed with me in Ecuador until 2004 when I shipped it to the States. Approximately a 3000 miles (4800 Km) journey to the Port of Baltimore, and then by truck to Virginia some 80 miles.
For the first 39 years, it was a daily driver, so most of the 300k miles were driven there. In the 10 years here in the States, I've driven it an average of 1600 miles per year. Only way to keep it in shape.
As strange as it might sound, I've never given a name to it. Probably will never do. I used to refer it as the White one, when I had the other Patrols, a 1974 baby blue (repainted, not original color) and a gray 1983 wagon, with a P40 engine.

Re: Known G60 movements
Not so strange really. I think probably the opposite is true. I was not one to name my cars in the past. I think what started it was that Togo came with a name, and I had to keep it because it was part of the vehicle'shistory. Then it just became easier to keep track of the herd by naming them because there were so many.Esteban wrote: As strange as it might sound, I've never given a name to it. Probably will never do. Re: Known G60 movements
Mine came from small town in Arkansas. It had two previous owners. The PO brought the Patrol to Tx and then sold it to me.

Re: Known G60 movements
1977 Ute: purchased it 2003 and imported it from New Zealand myself. Picked it up in the port in Long beach and towed it home on a trailer. This one was only driven around the ranch, once or twice out on the road I live on, sneaked it through the neighborhood and back tot he ranch.
1966 Patrol, aka Admiral Togo: Bought it outside the Twin Cities in Minnesota in 2002. This truck was purchased from the original owners estate. Drove out to Minnesota, picked it up and towed it home. On the way home went through Yellowstone National Park with the truck. It's last trip through Yellowstone was back in 1966! I put somewhere 1,000 miles on this truck. Drove it to job sites a few times, took it up in the mountains a few times. To nice of a truck for me at the time so I sold it to Leslie.
1964 soft top: Bought it in Silver City, New Mexico in about 2003. Drove down, all back roads through Flamining River Gorge, Moab and down into Arizona then into New Mexico, Picked it up and towed it home on a trailer. Never been started or driven since I have had it. Full frame off resto nearing completion!
1964 Patrol hard top: Bought it in 2002 in San Francisco, drove out, picked it up and towed it home on a trailer. Few years later, I delivered it to the new owner, not 5 miles from where I bought it in SF! Put 2,000 or so miles on this one, had motor fully rebuilt and Weber carb fitted. Took it up in the mountains numerous times and out on the town!
1983 Patrol 160 SWB, aka MQ Patrol. Bought it in 2004 in Bakersfield, California. Drove down from SF after delivering the 64 hard top, picked it up and hauled it home on a trailer. This truck has been driven a fair amount, probably put 2,000+ miles on it. It has been to Moab, Arizona 2x and Idaho for off-roading trips.
1966 hard top, parts truck: Bought it in South Dakota, drove on out picked it up and towed it home on a trailer. This truck had been owned by Alex who still makes the hard top sliding window gaskets. Nothing really left of it now, some frame pieces all cut up is about all. The body was given (I think I gave it to them, can't recall exactly) to Dannet & Kieth, old members of the NPCA site, who came on up to Wyoming, stayed at my place, camped in the front yard and towed it back to Arkansas with a Nissan Altima! I never ran this truck.
1967 hard top, parts truck: Bought it outside Denver in about 2002: Drove down, picked it up and towed it home on a trailer. This Patrol had a fist sized hole in the block. Sold the body to a young kid in California who was restoring a Patrol, he came up and picked up the body. Some of it's parts are still around and or used in other trucks. I never ran this truck due to the fist sized hole int he block.
1965 hardtop: This truck was given to me. Drove down to Estes Park, Colorado, got the Patrol, towed it home on a trailer. Towed the Patrol through Rocky Mountain National Park on the way home. This truck is now with Vern up in Montana. I still have some bits from it, including the roof and the firewall which are being used in the 77 Ute. Was complete but I never ran it.
1967 hard top: My first Patrol. Bought it in about 1991 in Corvallis Oregon. Drove it home! Only Patrol I have ever driven home. No idea where it is now, years ago I sold it to a couple in Portland, Oregon who were going to put a Benz turbo diesel in it. Drove this truck alot, probably put 4,000+ miles on it. Drove it to work everyday for a summer or two and took it many times to the hills for off-roading.
1968 hard top, black plate Patrol. Bought this one in 2014 in Oakland, California. Drove out, picked it up and towed it home on a trailer. I will be doing a full frame off resto on it. Busted piston, have not ran this truck yet.
1984 Patrol 160 SWB, aka MK Patrol. Bought it in 2008 and got it in 2012. Shipped this one from Toowoomba to Brisbane, Australia and then on to Long Beach, California. I was busy so I had a guy pick it up and bring up to me in Eastern Idaho. Drove it around the block at my buddies house in Idaho when I got it, drove it around the ranch a bunch and sneaked it into the neighborhood a few times. Scrapped it in winter of 2012/13 as it was a rusty mess, got $60 in scrap steel for it! Kept many parts from it, the engine is the donor motor form my 83 Patrol.
1980 LG61: Purchased this one in Colombia in 2003/4. Flew down to Colombia, to Bogota and then flew out to Santa Marta. Drove the truck a little bit off-road. Put it in storage to wait for it to turn 25yrs old so I could import it. Busted leg and life stopped that from happening so it was sold in Colombia and never made it up here.
1966 hard top and soft top: Not my Patrols but in 2014 drove down to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, picked up both Patrols and towed them home in an enclosed trailer. The 66 soft top is being restored now. Drove the soft top around the block when it got picked up and around the ranch a few times.
I think that is about it, I might be off by a year or so on some of my dates. Don't have mileage but as you can see I have done a lot of driving and towing Patrols home. Everyone of these trucks was towed (except my first Patrol and the two 66's) by my 2001 Chevy 2500HD. That truck has done some serious miles towing Patrols!
Cheers
