Some main differences that I've seen in South American Patrols (Colombia & Ecuador) in late 70s models:
-No air polution controls
-No power brakes
-Marker/brake lights following US standard, until 1978, to become same as in Australia
-Light duty rear axle

I would say the power brakes is questionable. You can find many Colombian Patrols pre-LG61 that have power brakes but I am sure many times it is a retro fit and not original. That is the thing about Colombian Patrols, so many survivors and trucks still around. They have had body parts all these years as well as all other parts. So probably 80-90% of the Patrols down there are not in original form. They are popular as taxi's down there as well as with the younger crowd for "customizing".

The heavy duty axle was in Colombia, albeit fairly rare. The Nun Patrol has the H260 and a lot of the LG61's have the H233 rear which made it an LG61H. All pick ups have the H260 too and I have seen well over a dozen pick ups in Colombia over the years. Australia for sure though got way more HD Patrols with the H260 rear axle.
