So what's the prognosis doc?! Is my VIN close enough to yours that these reflectors should work for my rig?! Fingers crossed!

Agree- the later 66's would just have the reflector flush-mounted to the square hole in the body. They are correct for the Yellow (soon to be blue) 66

the early 66's that have recessed door handles (like my green 66, number L60-00511) used the reflector with the early style raised rubber base.

but it seems the Everwing reflector part is consistent across the board for all 66's and earlier (actually, Everwing is probably correct for all 67 and earlier, since 67's still used Everwing marker and tail lights, as well)

I recently acquired a Koito reflector, (it says R-2 Koito L-1246 on it) - I would be interested to know if anyone with a 68 or early 69 Patrol has these Koito reflectors on it?

68 was the same year that they transitioned to Koito marker and tail lights, so maybe the reflectors changed to Koito at that point, as well...???

Pulled rear reflectors from 64 this evening. Plastic Koito lens, textured inside with small piece of white paper behind it. Same exact thing on the other 64, I got pics if anybody wants to see them? These are early style with bigger chrome ring and big rubber base, screw on mount. On the 68 they are super small chrome ring that is literally part of the mount and backing plate. They are Everwings, plastic with rectangular mounting holes required, ie 66+. Also have pics as well as the 311 ones.

One thing I did note this evening, 64 is a hardtop the reflectors came off of. Grey interior, originally white exterior. Red primer under all that. Under the rear reflector was grey, not white, not red. So I am going to say, whole truck got the red primer, then if a hardtop it all got the grey, after that it got the white only on exterior, taped off. The rear reflector was put on after the grey and taped off. Seems very odd I know for a factory application but that is what it is on this truck.

Cheers

yup. that's how my white 65 is as well - grey under all the lights, under the hinges, etc... I think if the truck was a US hardtop, that they painted all the body panels gray, and then masked and shot the exterior color over the gray right after the windshield frame was mounted to the truck (but before the doors and hardtop went on)

yes, pictures please !

My early 66 has the same raised-base early style reflectors on it - I need to go pull them off and compare - but mine are pretty trashed. I also have this one lense that came in a box of trade-parts:
CAM00865.jpg
says Koito L-1246 on it.

I find it hilarious that Nissan would have switched from Everwing to Koito tail lights and marker lights, just about a year before they switched from Koito reflectors to Everwings...
