Well, the pictures are kind of tiny, but it looks like it might be an original muffler.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Heat shield might be. The muffler doesn't match the heat shield, so I don't think it's original.

the picture isn't complete, but it doesn't appear to be. The heat shield and the original mount/strap isn't there.

Ok, Looking at this image of the muffler on Lou's 69 Patrol:

I went and compared it to this picture of my 62's muffler:

It looks like the correct OEM muffler, yes?

If this is indeed the original muffler still in place on my 62, then I will have no choice but to try and restore it... Which will absolutely be the first time in my automotive journey that I have EVER tried to restore a muffler... :?
