Well guys and gals, despite every effort it seems im just not capable of getting any of my patrols sorted out, least of all hermit. Its time to call it for what it is, and move them on hopefully to a better home with someone who can finish the work i started. My back issues are looking to be long term, and with nil job prospects either i simply cant manage a rebuild job. I live with murphy on my back continuously too, and every time i think there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel another cosmic kick finds its mark.
get the most painful out of the way first.
Hermit: maroon g60h ute.
5 speed mk box, 4.1 falcon motor conversion (minus motor)
Twin fuel tanks with a combined 180 litres capacity
disk brake front end.
H260 rear diff
bucket seats
all nsw engineered
timber floored tray
Complete rebuild by previous owner prior to my purchase- the kms on the odo are what on the driveline. Off the top of my head thats about 30k km.
bad points: cancer is showing up in various points. One door is shot, windscreen surround, and one front quarter panel. Some surface rust shwing now around roof gutters too
she is in general disrepair. But could be brought back to best with fairly minimal work. She still has the original engine mounts and so could be gotten running again with either an original p motor or another falcon motor- i recomend the former....
an sd33 conversion would not be difficult either given she has the mk gearbox in her already- just a bell housing swap needed, plus engine mounts and wiring......
Asking $2000
Grip: the last guard. My original ute build which i never completed.
Chassis up restoration with modification to take mq/mk driveline
The sd33t, 5 speed and mq diffs are already in, she just needs final assembly, wiring, tray and cab fit out. Given how long she has sat there no doubt there will be other things needing attention too.......
she is completley rust free....but not engineered
brand spanking new clutch thats not even done 1 rpm sitting on the back of the sd33t, which had 270k km on it when i pulled it from the donor...
Again $2000
Marks adaptors 5 speed gearbox. 4.8:1 first gear. Rebuilt. Did 120km before prev owner pulled it due to the gearing being too low in 1st for his taste.
$1500
Red six: swb 76 model. Original drive line but some goodies.
extractors
holley carb
add a coil sus kit in the rear
suspension seat for front drivers seat but buckets for both front seats.
Original steelies with old 7.00R16 recaps on them
$500
blue:73 model swb parts rig. Butchered wiring, some rust
over canopy racks,
Repairable cab- or cut it into an extra cab and drop that onto one of the lwb ute chassis to make a decent extra cab g60 up.....
$400
white 73 mwb soft top. Only half the cab left on it. H260 rear diff, some parts of the soft top frame there. 1 good door, good bonnet, good rust free windscreen surround, and a rebuilt p motor that had done 600 km before the ute was parked up a hill with the back full of seper phosphate- hence why there is only half a cab left......
$400
1 nissan cabal/cab star truck gearbox. Dismantled. In a big wooden box with a heap of other g60 spares.it needs re buolding, but coul possibly have an mq transfer case fitted to the back or be used as parts to rebuild an existong marks gearbox. Im not sure what is or isnt there, i was told it was a complete box minus the 5th gear bearing.
$300
Im sure i have missed a whole heap of stuff. But oh well
Im not going to part the vehicles out. They can simply be sold as is with the only exception being that im keeping the swampers i have sitting under hermit......
For the moment i have only advertised all my old girls here. Ill wait a week or two and see whats left before openly advertising elsewhere.
All the best

Sorry to see you finally have to do it mate. I totally understand where you're at though. Sometimes the hardest part is accepting.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: final curtain call
Thanks for the well wishes guys and gals, i really do appreciate it.
Part of the reason for putting them up for sale was it looked like i was going to have a gq coil cab ute and if i got it then everything else would have to go to cover it. in the end i turned it down as it needed a lot of work in its own right, and much more than had been let on. Instead now im back to plan A, and am persisting with the triton. The tritons motor came out today, and it was very definitly in a sad state. With luck the triton might be back on the road and actually sorted. If the triton comes up ok and doesnt leave me broke (again), then something may happen with the patrols. If someone offers the right money then so be it, but im not in a rush at all now.
All the best guys, thanks for the support.
Cheers
