Wanted - Fuel Sending Unit

Post by Leroygsmith »

I believe I need a fuel-level sending unit. 73 Patrol G60. Does anyone have an extra to sell? Or a source for replacement?
The gauge indicates 1/2 a tank when is is completely full, and can sit on empty for a long time before it really needs a fill up.
I popped the access panel over the existing unit and stopped there when I saw the existing condition.
The unit's base plate seems deformed and maybe too small for the bung hole.
I am not sure what is going on because the whole perimeter of the base plate is covered in dark sealant.
So I assume the original was replaced with what ever was handy at the time.
I is a can of worms that I don't want to open until I have a proper replacement part.

You might be able to order it. Here is a part number: 17291-44002 . If I remember correctly, it was compatible with some other Datsun models, I don't remember which though.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Seems the part is no longer available. I ordered the part from the suggested link but after two days I received a full refund form the seller.
