Re: Stock Starter Solenoid
It will be very difficult to find the original starter solenoid, and if you do, it will cost a lot, to the point that a new complete starter will make sense. The following is the link that I took from another thread. The cost right now is $126.24.

The other route will be to open and service the solenoid itself. I still carry the original solenoid on mine, and I have done this process a couple of times. All this is provided the solenoid is still actuating but not making good contact inside. If the solenoid is fried, then there's no alternative.
If you open carefully you'll see that the two bolts were the big wires are attached on the outside, are being contacted on the inside by a big round, thick copper, plate. This plate can be reversed and will have some fresh surface again. Then you'll need to file and polish the heads of the bolts since they'll be probably eroded.
Hope your problem is a simple one that can be fixed with the above.

Re: Stock Starter Solenoid
I just missed a NOS one on eBay for like $40 a few months ago but I really wasn't looking for one then and it didn't come through on my alerts for some reason. May just have to go with a new starter, I cleaned up the solenoid when I refurbed the starter so I guess its toast, or I screwed it up.
