Hey Caterpillarman, wondered where you had got to!
Here's a few shots. I've just removed all the canvas and framing.
Incredible to see every single nut and bolt with correct flat and lock washers and rubber spacers in perfect condition.
I dropped the screen and it creaked a bit but again, only surface corrosion around the vents, that's it.
The underside is as perfect as a 42yr old steel frame can be.
Looking around the truck there are no signs of accident repairs, no welding done, the front bumper is straight.
Underway she drives straight, no rattles, she brakes very sharply in a straight line.
Climbing a very steep hill to get home was a breeze in second, temp stayed in the middle.
The canvas looks to be original with only one panel repaired on top.
I can only imagine that this truck was owned by one guy for it's entire life who must have kept it in a garage probably only heading out to 4x4 meets once a year? Maybe he passed and his family sent it for auction which is how it ended up on an export web site? There are a few clues which I am following up to find the full history.
It's almost too good to use as a work truck, but that is why I bought it.
The only things missing are a spare wheel, the jack/tool kit and the original drivers seat.

You did end up with quite a nice gem there. I agree with your thoughts on previous ownership. Yes, difficult to envision using it for a work truck, but I'm sure you will use precautions and it will serve you well.
