Tyres and wheels

OK, my Patrol has 4 original wheels and no spare.
Here's a pic of the rim, not a split rim.
First question, anyone want to sell me a rim like this?

I have 5 good tyres, 235 85 16's
The original wheels are fitted with 7.00 16's, military style crossplys with inner tubes.
Would I be right in assuming that the only way the 235's will go on these rims would be with new larger tubes?
If so, anyone know a spec on what tube to buy?
Does anyone run the 235 85 16's?

Last questions, the Patrol uses 'large hole 6 stud Nissan' wheels.
Is there a better description than that?
What other vehicles were fitted with the same rims?
Is there a non fancy aftermarket steel rim available that folks have used?

If it's a non-split 16" wheel, it's an early wheel; pre '66. The picture confirms that. Interesting for a later 70's model.

The bolt pattern is the same as Toyota Land Cruiser wheels. Chevy 6 lug is the same bolt pattern but as I recall the center hole is slightly smaller. You could probably find a Land Cruiser wheel pretty easily.

I put 235/85 R16 Bridgestone's on my 69.

PO cut the rear fenders, but I don't think there would be any clearance issues with the Toyota rims and those tires.

The offset is basically the depth of the inside of the wheel. Too much offset and the rim of the wheel will hit the steering linkage. 30mm is fine.

I think these wheels will work.

These wheels on Ducky were listed on Ebay as fitting a 2001 or so Tacoma or Tundra. They do have a positive offset. 30mm (about 1.2"). This is the difference between the centerline of the wheel and the mounting surface of the wheel itself. A positive offset will set the wheel further back in the opening, thus less likely to rub on fenders during suspension travel. Too much positive offset will create the problem RP described.

Long story short, those wheels/tires should fit great. My only disclaimer is my cut rear fenders. I took some pictures, front, rear inside and outside to show the clearances I have. IMO I don't think you can fit any taller or wider tires under a stock patrol.

I hope these help. Lots of anxiety buying tires and wheels for an "unknown" application.

One last question.
What enables a rim to be 'tubeless'?
Hey, I know split rims must have tubes, but are older Patrol rims unable to take tubeless tyres?

I'm going to buy these Tacoma rims, it means I can keep those old skinny original wheels and tyres for originality.

The older rims can take tubeless tires, as long as they've got a tubeless valve stem. You won't need tubes with those Yota wheels.
