67 in montana and i don't know what the problem is :-)

Post by maureen »

 hi! my friend has a 67 that she was driving til a few years ago. she said it needed a part. i said, oh i can find you the part online! i've done it before for my vehicles! i said, just give me the name of the part and the vehicle year. ok, this won't sound brainy but we aren't sure which part it needs. something about a master brake solenoid? i have been trying to find out if that exists. if it does, then bingo she knows what she's talking about and we just need to find out where to get one of those. and then we can try to find somebody to put it on. maybe.

i joined just to ask this and try to help my friend get hers going again. we're in montana. if anyone wants to tell me anything, i would sure appreciate it

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: You've come to the right place for all of your Patrol questions. We can help you with getting that Patrol back on the road.

There are some other members in Montana, Vernon in Billings and others that I can't recall ATM.

Maybe the part you are looking for is a brake master cylinder? What exactly is the problem with the Patrol?

Don't hesitate to ask questions. My motto is "there's no such thing as a stupid question." ;)
Beyond any hope for intervention

That would be my guess. Brake master culinder and it is a common problem on the Patrols. If thats it and you cant find one, i can rebuild yours if it isnt damaged too bad internally. :D

oh thanks for the replies! for one thing, you have helped me stop trying to find out what a brake master solenoid is. master cylinder  .

ok, so the trouble started a few years back and i don't know if they couldn't get her one or what. she parked it in the driveway. i was thinking that if i could find her the part, she might be able to find someone around here to put it on. not that simple, right?

i told her (connie is her name) that i found this place here :) , so that was a heroic start :D

i think she needs a mechanic who knows something? we're in butte, which on some maps looks like it isn't that far from billings.

oh, connie doesn't like doing research or pursuing auto parts, etc. that's why i who know little am doing it. i hate to see the poor thing sit in the driveway dry rotting :violin:

i'll try to run into her in the next few days and tell her there is hope. i'll check back, thanks!

Welcome Maureen! Connie wouldnt happen to live in the country club would she? to my knowledge there are three Patrols in Butte a white one that i havent seen driving around in awhile, mine, and then a yellow one that was under cover in the country club, it was owned by a nice lady whos father had originally owned it. I cant help with the parts but could direct you to several knowledgeable local mechanics more than capable of replacing the master cyl. PM me if you would like contact info for them.

Last year I saw one sitting along the highway heading to Georgetown lake outside of Anaconda. Seemed like it was a yellowish one....

Oh... and there was a white 69 for sale up in Boulder a couple of years ago. So yes there are Patrols in your area. :D

I see the yellowish one outside Anaconda almost every weekend. We have a cabin at Georgetown. it has a plow and appears to move when it snows but during the summer it very rarely does. I have been thinking about a plow for mine as the county decided to stop plowing the roads to out cabin last winter. 50car, you seem to have spent some time in my neck of the woods, do you have connections to this area? Anaconda to Georgetown isnt the typical route people from the tri-cities area take unless they have a reason.

My ancient relatives homesteaded up south of Hayes. Fairly close to Zortman.... my mom lives in Helena with her husband. We spent a couple years in Stevensville.... went to Fairmont last year and drove over to Phillipsburg .. of course went and did the touristy thing and sifted for sapphires up Skalkaho.... uh... yes am in Montana quite often. :D :D
