You are right It is brand new original. The owner of this Patrol is Hector Romero (part of Nisssan Record organization). He found the canvas new never used.

Before with Hard Top

Was this hard top removable style hard top?
Or was this hard top cut off to make soft top version.
I cannot see transition be tween hard top and body.

Hello. In Colombia there were lots of differents Hard Top brands. Some are very simple to take off and others demand more and carfully Job. This Red patrol 1976 had the 100% Steel Hard Top brand VIJAMEL. Yo u are right it is not visible the joint. In the pictures I am trying to show how is fasten to body. It was welder in some areas and spots (big spots) welder on the sides. We remove the paint look for welder take off carfully, The hard top covered the body end using steel sheet that goes straigth until body curve. Image like the letter U inverted. (I hope you understand my poor english). I have a lot picture but not with me until April 25th.... Thanks

Interesting. That brings another question. The top was not original to the vehicle when new? It was welded on after the vehicle was built and painted. Then the welds were ground smooth and top was painted to cover the welds. Looks like it held up really well and not bad rusted.

Hello. Yes almost all Hard Top in Colombia were made in Colombia. Just a few car I think no more than 30 arrived SWB and Original Hard Top for some goverment offices.
There were a lot of brands of Hard Top, and most of the time the people bougth the cars new (soft to all of them) and drives directly to Hard Top work shops to remove soft top. Because of this some of us have found Brand New Canvas never used.

On workshop installed hard top and paint so cars looked new.

Today people that use Patrols as hobby are returning to original

I would consider a full soft top and frame from Columbia, for my 63 but one question. Who in the USA can modify the top of the front window frame so it fits?

Patrolling with my hat in my hand, as usual.

Your '63 should already have the bead across the top of the windshield frame for the soft top edge to slide into. It was on all Patrols until '68.
