wiper motor rebuilding shop

Post by L60Boerne »

Greetings to Patrolees Worldwide,

I have tall stack of S & H Green stamps that I will trade for the name of a proven Patrol Wiper Motor rebuilding shop. My local rebuilder Chasco can get a dirty one going again but once a part needs replacing he is DOA.

I will buy for parts...any non-working/working motors up to 1965 models.

Long live Patriots and Patrols,
L60Boerne

I had my wiper motor rebuilt in Danbury, CT by a place called Alltech Automotive. 203 790 8990. They did a great job, but it was one motor set-up, not the two motor set-up. He's been around for a while so might be worth giving him a call.

Thank you, I will call them in the morning. I went by the mechanic shop this evening to collect the five extra motors I already have but the shop has "temporarily" misplaced a couple of them. If I get a confident report from your guys I will find them myself and get them to UPS.
The magic words I want to hear are...if I don't have the parts...I will make them.
Thanks,

that is awesome. He is a good guy, a little eccentric. He's done a little bit of everything I think. He did take a long time with mine - I want to say something like 6 months. But, I wasn't in a hurry and ultimately the wait was worth it. I am happy to check in on them from time to time if you need. Nizmut is sending me a new windshield frame so that i can do the convertible top conversion (back to original) someday. It has the 2 wiper motor set-up instead of the one. So, I won't need the fancy newly refurbished motor. Instead, will need to find 2 of the single wiper motors. When I do find them, I expect I'll also need to take them to Bill for refurbishment, so it's good that he is getting some practice in on yours!

Don.

Thank you, I really need a quick turn around on the first two motors, they are the brown cased ones. (1 month?) Any help keeping them moving would be appreciated.

I would just keep calling him and reminding him. His shop foreman is a guy named Joe - you'll probably need Joe to nudge him to get it done. Mine was a mess though - they kept finding little gremlins when they were doing their bench testing that they would have to go and fix. There can't be that many things to go wrong with the little ones though - I would imagine they would be pretty simple. (said the guy who knows not of what he speaks).
