I have heard there are 2 sets of ratios, but I don't know of a way to check them externally except for rotation, sorry.
The biggest issue I think you're likely to face is the tailshaft lengths in a SWB. Notching the crossmember wasn't required in my MWB apparently - it's still stock. In the 3 Mark's boxes I have had one was significantly looser in the linkages than the others, and also that same one had water in the transmission oil - check that if the one you're looking at has been sitting outside for a while ( the water will sit at the bottom so a quick check at the drain plug will suffice ).

Fairly sure i read somewhere that I shouldn't have to notch out the cross member, but then again maybe it wasn't talking about a SWB? lol
So what other parts were there other then the box itself? it was a kit right?
