Chassis extension

Hi all I’ve got a 1970 g60 ute as a project and it has been extended to a 3m wheelbase, can anyone give me any info on the extension, is it factory? Will it come up under the vehicles vin number? And would someone have a picture of one that has also been done?

the Early utes up until 71ish were still constructed on a MWB Wagon Chassis, the fuel tank being at the rear or the rear Diff ? A MWB wagon has the factory Wheelbase as 2500mm and a True Ute Chassis is a Stock 2800mm and a utes fuel tanks behind the back of cab forwards of the rear diff on the passengers side. As G60michael says, 2200, 2500 and 2800mm are the 3 factory wheelbase measurements.
Some 2800mm utes are extended 2500 chassis and they will probably have the G60 prefix in the VIN, and the bespoke 2800mm chassis will likely have a different prefix, I forget what they are, there are 2 prefixes which are listed in the service manuals on this forum for the LWB versions. The Australian compliance plates also have the wheelbase stamped on them and if it's been engineered there should be an additional plate to reflect the change.
The rear driveshaft might give you a clue also, it would have to be a custom or extended unit and the length of the addition might tell you if yours was a MWB or LWB to start with.
