I have for a while.
My mechanical pump leaked, so until I could I could find replacements parts I ran with an electrical fuel pump.
Since It was only a temporary replacement I purchased an electrical fuel pump via ebay for less than $20 AUD. I wired it directly to the ignition circuit on the fuse box and it pumped when the ignition was turned on.
The G60 ran OK with that connection.
Downside: You could hear the pump run (above all the other G60 noises) and the altmeter needle 'bounced' around. But it worked. I'm sure if you wired it up correctly the altmeter would be fine.
Upside: Quick and dirty solution to no fuel.
Warning: If you had an accident and the engine stalled, the fuel pump would still pump. This could lead to a nasty fire situation. You need to install a mercury kill switch as well.
Here is a replacement part see

Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!
