rear differential parts and trailer hitch

Does anyone know where to get diff. carrier bearings, pinion bearings, axle and pinion seals for my '70 Patrol? I also would like to buy an original trailer hitch if anyone has one, or swap my chain hook for one. Please send me a note if you can help out. Thanks! Bill T.

If they are same as the ones in the 69 model I can send them to you. The original hitch is a hook type rather than ball and it is standard fitment here. See if you can find them in the US or else I will ship them to you from India.

Hey GTB Not too long ago I was looking into rebuilding my front and rear differentials. Alot of the parts you can still get from NISSAN. If I recall correctally all the bearings and seals were still active numbers, but the little gears and shafts, those didnt show up. The pinion gear is still active though. Thing to remember though, just because the number is active, does not mean there is one on the NISSAN shelf for you to buy. But there is a chance, if the number is still active, if the number is no longe active, you can rest assured that NISSAN does not have any on the shelf, and if they did, they wouldnt know how to find it!

By active I mean I went to: http://www.nissanautoparts.com/search.asp And typed in the part number. It will check nissan autoparts data base to see if the number is active and give you a price, or it will tell you if the number is no longer active. So all you need now is the part numbers, I would give them to you but I just moved and all my books are still in boxes. I know some of the other members have the parts book though (Pudde) so they may chime in here. Bad news is the parts from NISSAN are usally not cheap! So, you may want to take Jongaman up on his offer! I would be intersting how much we can save, if any, going that route. Even if it is the same cost, or even higher, it is good that we have another source of parts, because alot of them are not made by NISSAN anymore. And in INDIA they still make the PATROL (ie Jonga) for the army. So alot of parts may exist, prob is up to now we have not had a contact in INDIA, but Jongaman is the man!

hey j-man!......i have a couple of those hook type hitches...BORING....can you find over there the pintle type hitch?..nissan part #...51100-45460......thats the whole assembly complete part #....thx!!

Hey guys, if you want a OEM type of hitch, or better check out: www.mcmaster.com They have them all. The page you want I cut and pasted most of the good stuff here, but search for "Combination Trailer Coupler" The "A" model below is just like the OEM, but I recomend you get the "H" side swing type (288T4) in that it does just what the "A" does but, it also has a ball, so you can pull civ or mil types of trailers. It is the one I got. Looks real cool too! Ill try to include the pic, but if not just go the the web sight and type in "Combination Trailer Coupler" in the search. ;

Thanks for the response regarding the diff. bearings and hitch. The hitch I need is the OEM bolt on ball-type. Both the hook and ball types came with the trucks when new. If anyone has one, again, I'd like to buy it rather than make one. Also, if anyone can help me out with differential part numbers, I'd appreciate it. I need numbers for the carrier bearings, possibly pinion bearings, axle seals, pinon seal, and spider gears/shims. Thanks to all for your help.
