Wife's New Ride

Broke down and got my wife something for winter weather should the need occur. Already got into snow in KS when visiting our daughter and son-n-law 2 weeks ago. It was very comforting to have the AWD on the slushy places and bridges. Had 1 gas station in KC where the entire parking lot was either slush or ice. Family is still determined to move to SW CO, and the Nissan Rogue wasn't AWD. Plus, I couldn't drive the Rogue. The center console hit hard into my right leg causing undue discomfort. Tried to talk her into a new Armada, but she didn't want anything that big.
The 5.7L was for me. 2018 is the last year for the 5.7L HEMI in the Grand Cherokee. Wish I could have talked her into the 6.4L SRT, but couldn't justify the extra cost just for the engine.
67 Patrol is still in the garage waiting for me to get back to work on it. Wife actually asked how much more did it need and what I thought it would cost to finish getting it running so we could drive it. I think it is really close.

Excellent choice.

Mine has the diesel but they will bury me in one of those. After buying 4 x 4s of nearly every make (except G wagon) ...my opinion is that there is no better 4 x 4 on earth. I can tow a Patrol at 18 MPG then use the same vehicle to go on any reasonable trail ....or just go down the road at 30 MPG if I want to slow down to 65 MPH without a trailer.

When I wear this one out, I'm getting another. I've never said that about any vehicle and our family had six Wagoneers back in the day.

Ok I have three Patrols...but I'm not buying another...though my wife very well may bury me in one of them.

I looked into the diesel GC, but read mixed reviews about the DEF system. I did not want the 3.6L even though it is sufficient in my Wrangler. However, my Wrangler would have a HEMI if it was available from the factory. I enjoy driving this GC every chance I get, especially getting on the interstate!
