Hi there, I have lots of other vintage datsuns and Nissans(60 Bluebird, 5 510's a 65 Nissan Cedric), but my newest purchase is a 69 Patrol... the first pressing issue I have is Brakes... whats a good dual master to swap in using the stock 4 drum set up? single masters scare me and the lines need redoing anyway...

i really like the power and master off the 720 nissan / datsun truck the small diameter one its about 8 in round butt be prepared for the wheel cylinders to pop from the added pressure i believe the 75 and up models changed there wheel cylinder diameter for this reason never had any problem with a single master if any master cyl goes while traveling youre still screwd also be aware of over brakeing the rear wheels with a newer MC seen a couple people have a really bad roll over due to this very problem also remember most of the patrols breaking is done with the motor and gears and is world renowned for it's reliability in the bush if driven correctly welcome aboard and i hope you think it thru thoroughly as youre life may depend on it Patrol Modo #1 if it aint broke dont fix it these parts are very expensive

Very basic to swap out brake master cyndler.. Replace existing unit with a new later model type dual resivior. Non power type. Very simple.. In respect to blowing out or what ever the previous info desribed as such. This issue has no relation to replacing the master cyndlr... Front and rear drums OK Factory brake master feeds from front and rear. / update to two resevior type. done. Contact me I will give you the part # .. A Brake shop or custom shop will or should explain to you or who ever what it requires. Remember it is a patrol.. probaaly never seen one. Call it a scout 64 .. no matter. brakes are brakes.. The brake system for a patrol. Replace the existing with dual resivior type ... Note Next problem brake componets/ wheel cynldrs.. linings/drums.. IF drums are so bad, as cracked, distorted. ect. probally not case , depends on area. Wheel cynnldrs tough one but u could rebuild, Like i said U have o check it out .. Problem is no one person will tell u what it is .. 67 nissan patrol . I have no problem stock/ non stock.. Keep the patrol on the road.

this is what can happen when you dont think it thru dual mc conversion with power assist caused rear wheels to lock and cause a roll over this is a friends truck and he survives much wiser please dont ever say brakes is just brakes that is a shure way to end up like this or worse !!!! the power assist in this truck was a comon chevy application bolted in

My drums etc are fine, But I'm a big fan of replacing systems when upgrading. so what you're saying is use 720 slaves with a 720 master... do you have a part number for the master? I've done a straight upgrade on one of my 510's, a 68 from single to dual master... but that was a swap of a master from a z car that also had stock front disc/rear drum. Patrol's have 4 wheel drum where as the 720 has front discs no? Isn't there a problem with a Master from a drum/disc brake system on a Drum/drum set up? Brake bias? I'd like to get this right as the drum set up is nearly the same one as on my '65 Cedric www.explorewellsgray.com/kermit and I actually need to do two of these swaps lol.

once you open it up youll notice the slaves are totally different especially the rear's to use the 720 slaves you would need to fab up the 720 dustplates as well to fit the 216 axlesas for the MC thats why i stayed single just added a power assist for a little more clamping power to help stop my 33'swhen i go to full disc's ill go with a dual set up

Patrol's have 4 wheel drum where as the 720 has front discs no? Isn't there a problem with a Master from a drum/disc brake system on a Drum/drum set up? Brake bias?thats what caused this rollover brake bias his fix was to add a porportioning valve to the rearsto limit the pressure and he says it works great
