I was just wondering...... If these motors are almost dead knockoffs of a chevy 235 can you put the fenton headers on them? Has any one done that?

Dont know too much about the 235, but I know that this P engine is not a dead knock off of any american engine, close, but that only counts in horse shoes. >>can you put the fenton headers on them? Has >>any one done that? Mater of fact, I think the TOY/LAND engine is closer to a 235 then the NISSAN P engine. In that if I remember right the chevy and toy exhast/intake are on the left side of the motor, and the distributer is on the right, which is just the op of the NISSAN P engine. Thus I would have to guess the answer to your header Q is no. Keep in mind Im not 100% sure about the 235, but real sure about the toy. Grant

I had been told they were very similar. They both share the same mount pattern for the bell housing. Also if i look at my manifold it does say Nissan on it but it also has the "dogbone" on it like a chevy not to mention the chevy bowtie. I think the carborators are interchangeable too. I just thought it would be nice to get a little more "rumble" out of the patrol.

The Patrol engine has been reported to be a mirrored clone of the famed "Blue Flame" 235. Since the BH patterns do match, and the Japanese are well known for copying Chevy in the past, I would believe it. The stroke and bore are way different however. So the odds of some common parts are pretty low. You may be able to put a Chevy exhaust manifold without the tubing on. If you do try it, let us know.David

I have an old chevy inline six laying in my yard, and i too was hoping that there would be something interchangeable. that water pump and fuel pump are completely different, as are manifolds etc. i understand that the rochester carb is the same as chevy of similar vintage, perhaps some of the carb upgrades could be utilized. Also, one of my friends is going to India next month, i'm giving him my digital camara in order to hunt down a Jonga and see what the drivetrain looks like and if there is any campatable parts-duane
