Welcome to 60Patrol. You sure found a nice one. And like mentioned above, bring it back with you! And the FJ43!

Hi Ken, Nice Patrol! Red is my favorite color. Very similar to the first one we brought in from Colombia a couple years ago. We sold it to a fellow 60 Patrol member and he's loving it.

FYI not all classic vehicles can be exported from Colombia. They have to go thru a government inspection to make sure the vehicle has not tampered with in any illegal way. Back 4 years ago, we purchased 2 FJ40's to bring back and we had to resell them locally because they wouldn't pass the government inspection. They were ok to be driven in the country, just not to be exported out. Sometimes I think the Colombian government has more red tape than the U.S. government! Here in the U.S. they only care if it's 25 years or older. But then you have State level to deal with too, every State is different. California and New York are the most difficult.

Sorry, not trying to discourage you, just trying to give useful information to help you decide. But if you do decide to bring it back we can help. :)

Cheers,
Mag

Thanks, will keep that in mind. I received guidance from my office on exportation, so hopefully everything goes smoothly. My work will be covering the expense for one of the vehicles and I'll be on the hook for the 2nd.

Lol... Hi mdawg, I'm a USG employee living overseas. They're always hiring for some place in the world :) Looking forward to bringing the Patrol back to the States in a couple years, maybe with a soft top FJ43 in tow as well. I'm in negotiations as we speak.

I like them too. I saw one that appeared in good condition listed for sale in Japan a year ago, and did not buy it.
