Howdy from Victoria, Australia!

Post by Zako »

Hey all,

After having walked past a g60 for most of my teenage years, it's taken me more than enough time to finally venture into the g60 world. This is Gypsy - a 1973 model with no rust, just a bit of panel damage on the passenger fender and bonnet. Going to do a full resto-mod on her and may either put a TD42t (from my Ford Maverick - GQ Patrol) or a Ford Barra Turbo... Yet to be confirmed.

Engine isn't running, however I do have another P motor, H260 diff and a front diff with the MQ hubs and discs all ready to go in. Will be a project taken on with my dad and 5 year old :)

Look forward to learning more about the other builds going on!

Cheers,

Zako

Welcome to Patrol60. There are heaps of information contained in this forum about G60 Patrols, along with some very helpful and knowledgeable people.

I'm in Canberra and have 2 Patrols. A MWB soft top (without the soft top!) and a LWB cab/tray. Both registered on club plates. While there are a fair number of G60 Patrols out there you don't see too many on the road. Lets hope we see yours soon.

Your Patrol look pretty nice and not in too bad condition. Like anything old there is always a fair bit of work to get them up to condition. What happened to the windscreen?
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Thanks all :)

All windows were gone. I have a windscreen, just have to get the rubber for it to put it in. Also need to get Bailey channels for my doors.

Just scored some fantastic condition rear side seats for the old girl today too.

If anyone knows where I can find a MWB fibreglass roof please let me know?

Cheers

Welcome Zako!

What is the TD42t engine? I'm not familiar with the Aussie powerplants.

Like the above poster, I like the green color. Do you know if the accent stripes are original?

TD42t is a Nissan diesel engine. I think the 't' designates the turbo version.

^^^ spot on. 4.2 dinosaur that responds really well to a turbo. Came out in the y60 model. Mine has an aftermarket turbo kit and it definitely makes things a lot easier, especially when towing 2 tonne of boat.
