I don't think 3/8" studs will be up to the task of handling the leverage that a steering arm would place on them (especially with bigger, heavier tires)

returning to this...my original plan was to replace the OEM studs with a longer length stud, attach a high steer arm, and then a nut on each stud. what if I replaced the studs/nuts with long, Grade 8 bolts instead? Bolt all the way through the steering arm, king pin, shims, into the knuckle. Do you think that would hold better? I could also weld another support piece to the knuckle and bolt the arm through that as well?

i got the driveshafts yesterday and went on the first drive!!!





the front driveshaft needs some work...at normal ride height, there was a little bind at the u-joint in the front. I used a grinder to remove some material, and it works now, but any downward travel of the axle will see it binding up again. I may have to get some custom flanges made to adapt another CV head at the diff. But the rear works fine since I was able to tilt the rear axle up when I did my SPOA swap. ive already contacted a driveline shop that seems to be able to make custom high angle flanges/shafts, so hopefully they get back to me soon.

and yes I know I have a fuel leak, I need a new gasket for my fuel level sender, happening hopefully later today.

I am so excited to get this thing driving! as far as I know, it has not seen a road in over 20 years!!!

yes, they were custom built for me. each one had to have a CV head at the TC.

Well I made a rookie move....I forgot to put my gas cap back on after filling up. Does anyone have a spare gas cap for a 69 patrol?!?

I recently ordered a roll of rubber seal to re-seal my doors. I only ordered one roll, to make sure it fit good, and it wound up working out pretty great! it is a "D-shape" seal. Here is the link where I ordered it:

I sealed the bottom of the front doors (there was a huge gap....why did nissan design it like that??), and all around the passenger side door, then ran out after doing one part of the driver side door rear. I ordered another roll and will hopefully have enough for the rest of the driver door, and the rear doors as well. Will post pics soon.

I also plan on ordering some sound deadening/insulation for the engine bay and front cab area. Hopefully make listening to the radio a bit better!

Looking for an OEM handbrake lever assembly. basically these 2 parts pictured here:



the lever itself, and the toothed piece that the lever rotates around. I got rid of mine when I sold my complete motorset
