I am looking to buy a 65' Patrol, but there is a slight problem. It has a 350 motor and a 350 turbo tranny but it has stock axles and transfer case. Therefore, the brakes are shot.1. should I change the axles, and what axles fit???OR2. is it possilble to leave the stock axles and fix the brakes, and or what do you recommend???* anything will help, please e-mail me oskirito@aol.com

After having broken 2 rear axles and several leaf springs I am not a fan of either.  I have also seen several broken front axles.  I would change out everything and put in a set of Dana's if it is possible.  It would certainly be much stronger and more stable.  You may as well change out the leaf springs and put in something a little more common such as Wrangler or CJ leaf springs.  It would all require a lot of work but would pay off big time in the end! -Jeff
