Wow, that paint came off very nicely! That's some serious air conditioning in that left fender. I have an NNOS one if you're interested. Don't know how I'd get it to you though...

Tell Hagerty to look again, all of mine are with Hagerty.

Good job getting the layers of paint off-I’ve tried on other projects with zero success. Btw, Does anyone know Nissan’s name for the light green is? I like it.

It's color code 546, called Jade Green.

Here is the engine block stamp, sorry for the delay

Next round of paint removal. Just a little bit more to go then we will start buffing. Also threw the spare off one of the 40's on it and I think this is the wheel/tire combo I will be going with.

Also should the tire swing out be completely straight or did they have a little bend in them? I think a previous owner backed into something with the spare on and squished this corner a little. Planning on straightening it all out but I dont want to make something straight that wasnt supposed to be haha.

Also kind of funny that the spare wheel included with the Patrol is a 79+ FJ40 wheel.

Ditto- I have two of them insured with Hagerty (a 66 and a 62)

The bend in the spare tire carrier was "added" later.

I’ve been “driving-while-restoring“ my “68 as 69” for about 7 years. I also have a very bad shape 69 as a parts donor.
There’s at least a dozen changes from 68 to 69. Most obvious is the 68 “banjo” steering wheel vs the ((sorry guys) less classy later wheel. The 68 has independent wiper motors. The 69 “gained” giant side reflectors, large rectangular front marker/turn lights, large bumper-mounted taillights, back-up light, Windshield squirter, self-canceling turn signals, hazard flashers. The complete drivetrain Is pretty-much unchanged for the whole 60 series.
Have fun.

So I will just throw this out there. I am pretty sure there was a gear ratio change in 69? I have driven David's older patrol and it seems that my True 69 has a higher ratio gear. Thoughts?

Never a change in ratios, at the gearbox or differental, until the very last model in 1980. Even the G61 has the same differental ratio.

That is what I understand. But my Patrol raps out real quick. Going on gut, here. I will see if I can put down some numbers for comparison.
