Re: Phoenix Patrol Build Forthcoming
Greetings,
I unpacked Raul's beautifully crafted frame today. It was primed in a manly color of green that I almost kept. Unfortunately the customs agents stabbed one of the curved pieces above the door with a big steely knife. After hammering on it for a bit it came back to an acceptable shape.
I presume everyone knows the beautiful mountain town of Medellin has a daily temperature of 72 degrees every day....as does Santa Barbara for that matter. I can't wait to get back there.
The Colombian people are wonderful in every way. The Colombian coffee trail is worth the effort and I will do it once again. However this time will not have the need for an armed convoy.....which if nothing else makes for a good story I'll tell around the fire pit someday. It didn't work out so good for everyone but that was a long time ago when the US didn't even have diplomatic relations with Colombia. Some say those were the bad ole days...
If you need a soft top in frame please contact Raul he is a tremendous part of our efforts to restore these old war horses.
Patrolling towards a new soft top installation next week,
L60Boerne

Re: Phoenix Patrol Build Forthcoming
Happy 4th!
We were supposed to be celebrating with Red, White and Blue Patrols today but they have to wait till next year.
In the meantime, we are getting closer with Phoenix Patrol.

Re: Phoenix Patrol Build Forthcoming
Greetings,
I met my goal for the weekend. After I get the top on... it goes back to shop to fix the even bigger leaks they generated.
Patrolling again soon,

Re: Phoenix Patrol Build Forthcoming
Greetings to all Macgyvers,
The slip yoke on the rear drive shaft was stuck. So we naturally used what was on hand to unstick it.
Worked great.

Re: Phoenix Patrol Build Forthcoming
brilliant...
I'd probably still be out there smacking at it with a sand-filled mallet.
