Window moulding install
Hi All, This is for any of you who have bought the linear replacement sliding window moulding or who plan to and want to know how it goes in. To buy list: 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, 3M Adhesive Remover. 1.) Thoroughly clean the new moulding with the adhesive remover or a trusted degreaser, there is still a lubricant on it from the extrusion process, if it is not clean, it will not adhere well. 2.) Remove window and glass making sure you save all the screws, thoroughly clean the metal frame for the window assembly. 3.) Cut the moulding to the length needed, CUT LONG, you can always make it shorter but you can't make it longer.... 4.) Glue the moulding to the FRAME (not to the truck) and make sure you have everything going the correct direction, you may want to make holes or mark where the holes should be for the screws. NOTE: the joint goes at the bottom! 5.) Let the adhesive set, make sure it is completely set before putting the window assembly and glass back into the truck, if there are any spots where it didn't adhere spot clean it and re-apply the adhesive. Then you are good to go. Let me know if there are any questions/problems/comments/concerns/complaints.............
