Very good memories for such a brief trip. We stepped so far back in time I swear I heard the bells on the ore wagons. We need more time on the trail next time. However, it was the visions of Search and Rescue extracting my mangled body from a flattened Patrol at the bottom of 1000 foot drop off that I hold most closely. Maybe it was church bells I heard?L60Boerne wrote:RiverPatrol,
You were there...in spirit.Everyone who has helped me is always with me. As I patrol I look at the parts and think of who sent them and how thankful I am for getting them. Those Patrols are loaded down with far memories than anything else.
I'm pretty sure the #1 use for these these old Patrols is to hold memories.
Patrolling in CCV5 again today.

Last weekend I picked up some Patrol60 parts that were stored for years. In speaking (texting really) to the guy I enquired about his G60 Patrol experience. He had several in the 70's. He asked for some photos of mine.
I sent them last night mentioning the memories they would bring back. He responded - plenty of memories flooded back and he would love to own one again.
So yes, the old 60 Patrol brings back many memories from ones youth and adds some excitement to the younger folk who now own one.
I'm sorry I couldn't make the Engineering Pass Ascent!

I envy you David and Chris. I’ve read again the article and it’s so enjoyable. Good portrait of the Patrol too.plateaucal wrote:Here we were. Wish you all could have been there. It was a trip.

Thank you Esteban,
You only get about 78 good trips around the sun. I hope you will join us for the next Loop next October. With Chris in the group we are safe and well planned.
Patrolling to paradise,
