VZ 42 Carburetor Wanted

Post by L60Boerne »

If anyone has a working VZ 42 Carb and wants to sell it please contact me. The modern ones from NAPA are much better but I've made my bed now I'm going to lay in it.

Did you get that carb kit that was on eBay?
Beyond any hope for intervention

River Patrol,
Yes, it was the one from ebay. The most problematic piece was the brass hollow needle looking screw in tube. The Aussie kit's brass tube was about 2 mm longer than the one in my best salvaged VZ so when Rene screwed it into the channel it pushed out and ruined the plug at the lower end of the channel. I'm not sure what this brass hollow tube component is named or does but the OD was around 1.25 mm and the length was about 2".

I think Rene either made a plug or found one in one of the other carbs. The longer Aussie tube simple needs to be cut to the same length as the original. Rene did find an original from my junkers that worked.

Once again proving that if there is a will, there is a way to keep these Patrols running.
